Well I'm back in Russvegas and about to start my last semester of college.  It's kind of a bitter-sweet thought.

Texas was fun.  I made a gigantic margarita in a gigantic martini glass.  I was so proud of it, and a little tipsy, that I started showing everyone, got a clumsy and somehow chipped the top part of the glass which cut three fingers...not too deep though so it's ok.  My friends and I also cooked for a whole college basketball team.  Seven Roasted Turkeys, mashed potatoes, 3 sweet potato pies, fried okra, 3 pans of macaroni and cheese (extra cheese), 4 lbs. of pasta and marinara with turkey sausage, 30 yeast rolls, carrots, 3 buckets of ice cream, awesome peach desert, and lots of fruit.  It was a night to remember and an overly full stomach.

When I got back to Hot Springs from Texas, I decided to take a new view on what I call my "home town".  I took the advice from a friend and enjoyed the town as if I were a tourist.  It was a blast.  It started around 7pm where I visited my mother at the Malco Theater and watched a short film festival.  Most of the shorts were rubish, artsy bullshit, but some of them proved of value so it was worth the 2 1/2 hours.  Next I went with the girls, my mom and the divorces, to Maximes where I had a few beers and listened to some local jams.  The girls got tired and decided to go home.   So I walked around downtown for about an hour; it was wonderful.  Mostly I watched people and studied their emotions, but I also enjoyed the slight nightly breeze and the lights of downtown.  After a the walk, I wondered to the Arlington hotel.  Walking into the hotel I could here the sound of the big band playing and the laughter people having a good time.  So I oredered a martini and took a seat to watch the band and the swing dancers.  It was way awesome.  After about an hour, I got a call from my dad; my uncle and him were having drinks at the local italian resturant and they invited me to join them for a drink.  Now this resturant is extremely nice where all the waiters where suits with ties and everybody there looked like a gangster.  Well the Pellegrinos fit right in and we started to have a few glasses of wine and began to speak in our italian vulgar ways at each other.  It was fun and full of debates about this and that, really we just to yell at each other.  It was very italian ending to the night!  Oh yeah, our waiter was named emily...nice gal.

Battlestar Galactica: Season 2.5 (Episodes 11-20)

So lately I've been trying to lose weight.  I've been drinking this dieting herbal tea which makes me shit a whole lot and I've been taking funky vitamins my mom gives me.  I have was staying away from sweets by hiding them in different areas, until my mom screwed me over.  She took the apple pie, which I hid on the top self of the pantry, and moved it to the kitchen table.  So when I woke up, around 3, and came down stairs there was a deliciously plump apple pie yelling "EAT ME".  I have no will power, so I made some coffee and ate the whole fuckin thing!  Now I'm back where I started a couple of days ago....SHIT!

Besides being a fat ass, I finally finished downloading Battlestar Galactica season 2.5.  So I will be watching this all day, cause tomorrow I'm going to Texas to visit people I haven't seen in like 3 or 4 years.  It might be a little weird.  But I'm sure once we I've got a few drinks in me, I'll be spilling my deepest secrets to them.

Pickled garlic…Oh Damn!!!  My dad picked some of this up on his trip to California; I’m totally hooked.  The bad news, people may not want to talk to me and my stinky breath.  But it’s a risk I’m willing to take.

So all day, I’ve been watching Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations.  This guy has my dream job.  He gets to drink, smoke, cuss, eat, and travel around the world all on the expense of somebody else.  Why can’t they give me this job?  I can cuss at different countries natives with a beer in one hand, a cigar in the other, and pork chop in my mouth.  Let me at them!

Talking about food, I got a awesome Soup cookbook from Santa and I’m planning to give it a crack tonight.  I haven’t decided which soup to cook yet.  I’ve got two soup categories in mind.  Either a classic soup that sticks to my Italian heritage such as Italian wedding soup or something kinda strange like curried cauliflower soup.

Well there’s my day.  Hope you guys have a good one too!

*edit*
I just found a bottle of Carbenet Sauvigon wine in my pantry, so my day is going even better now.
